Apicultura Lanzarote has formed part of the “Lomos Altos” biodynamic farm since the year 2013.
To a lot of residents and visitors to the island, the practice of beekeeping and the collecting of honey could seem like a “mission impossible”. Our beekeeping is extensive and organically certified. With approximately 50 hives we are aiding the pollination of fruit and vegetables and the increase in the biodiversity on over 20 organic farms and grazing lands around the island. Due to the absence of very low temperatures in the winter months, our bees collect nectar and polen all year round, therefore, there is no need to feed them with sugar water.
We are happy to answer questions and share our project with other beekeepers and visitors to the island. Our honey is available during the harvest season at the shop in the Centre.
